Welcome to Tarzana, CA

At the start,  Tarzana was a part of the San Fernando Mission established in 1797 by Spanish settlers and missionaries. Today it’s a residential community located on the site of a former ranch owned by real estate investor and noteworthy author Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose storybook jungle character hero, Tarzan, inspired the naming of the town itself.

The scenery that is associated with Tarzana’s past— rustic, wide open spaces, berry farms, sprawling ranches— assisted in setting the precedent for the beautiful, ranch-style homes that are constabtly encountered today. The Tarzana Real Estate landscape consists mainly of single family homes and a variety of condos and townhouses. Properties with large yards, hill and mountain views, and outdoor amenities continue to attract those desiring a home of their own in the Tarzana area.

Tarzana Community Life
